What era of trains do you run?

This is a common question often raised by visitors or prospective new members. When the club was formed it was exclusively NSW, in fact we recently found a copy of the "club rules" from the mid 1960's which prohibited anything that wasn't NSW.
While you can understand this in that era but the rail railways have changed especially when standard gauge was extended to most mainland capitals in the mid 1990's but prior to that bogie exchangeable rollingstock would leave it's state of origin and may never come back home. As the real railways have changed so has the modelling scene.

In the last 25 years when a number of private operators have commenced and expanded operations throughout Australia this has also presented a variety of non NSW and even non Australian rollingstock now regularly seen on the rails of NSW.
So the simply answer anything is acceptable on our tracks as long as it's HO scale. Some bigger American locos can be too large to clear some of our structures but we welcome any rail operators from around the world which is the focus on overseas operations as seen on our layout during 2025.
