How good are train exhibitions?

SMRS was invited to exhibit out Mungo Scott’s layout at the Kaleen Exhibition on 27-28 February 2021, which were were proud to do

The exhibition was held in the Kaleen High School, an excellent location. There were many layout on exhibit, more than 20. Plus heaps of vendors, clinics, sales and food stalls.

Thanks to all the organisers and volunteers, this is a great tradition that has been going.

We loved going down to Canberra for the weekend and look forward to it again next year.

Last weekend, Sydney Model Railway Society was invited by Steve Pracy from SDS Models organised a running day up at Dence Park in Epping.

It was the first time in nearly 18 months that Mungo Scott's had been set up. Epping Model Railway Club also set up their amazing Binalong layout (it's a beauty).

It was a great opportunity to get out rollingstock that also hasn't had their wheels turned in a long time.

We made a short video from action on the Saturday, check it out.

If you want to be kept up to date on videos and announcement, be sure to join up. It's free and you don't get spammed. Cheers.

Monday, 18 Jan we had our regular Monday evening catch-up in our club rooms. What was unusual was we all had to wear masks, but this small and hot inconvenience is better than catching the virus.

January is a great time in our hobby, with releases of new models and members able to show the projects they have completed over the holidays. We compiled a short video of some of the amazing trains last night, including showing off the new NR class locomotives released by Auscision, and fantastic Indian Red passenger train to a very colourful ballast train. We can only have regular running nights thanks to our members. The Sydney Model Railway Society is an inclusive, open and welcoming club for all things trains. Feel free to visit or enquire about joining.
