Following on from our previous post today we are featuring many of the private freight operators who are now common place across Australia.
Many started from former government owned and operated systems and have evolved over time for example National Rail which was a consortium of NSW, VIC and the federal government but once sold became Pacific National with several owners since.
Other were started by companies with roots in other logistics to assist in a complete ship to customer delivery model. These have also changed over the years with some no longer in existence.

I remember in the mid 1990's when the NR class locomotives came into service it was forecasted by some as the end of the delightful variety we were used to in the SRA/FreightRail era but I think it's now an even more diverse rail scene now then what we experienced then.
Enjoy some of our Interstate visitors seen in model form that have graced out tracks in the last 12 months.
