The Sydney Model Railway Society had their annual Christmas Dinner at the Arncliffe Scots Club, a fantastic location where we were able to watch trains rolling by, including a empty quad NR steelie returning to Port Kembla.
A great turn out of 30+ members, guests and one <1 year old, Reuben.
The highlight of the night was the celebration of Dennis Sheering's membership and contribution to the club. He has been a member for more than 60 years, and regaled us with stories of the former club house, the different layouts and the many changes he has seen. The Club presented Dennis with a montage of many pics, and a snippet of 'Yardmaster', our original newsletter.
A great night was had by all, and excited by the impending model releases coming in 2016/17.
As the hobbyist proverb goes "may you get your models in 2017 that you paid for in 2013."
